Do I need to book in for Vacation Care?

All families will need to book in during the Vacation Care period. This will be done using the ‘My Family Lounge’ App which is available to download on your smart phone or tablet. All vacation care bookings are booked in as a casual booking for the days you require care. The After School Care and Before School Care bookings are suspended during this period and you are not charged for these. Your bookings will resume after the Vacation Care Period. If your child is attending on an excursion day then you will need to fill out an Excursion Permission Form, these are available for completion on the day of the excursion. A risk assessment is done for each excursion prior to the program being available and these are available for viewing at the service.

When are the Vacation Care programs and bookings available?

The Program for each Vacation Care period will be available 2 – 3 weeks before each holiday period. Our program follows the Education Queensland School Holidays for our Vacation Care Program. Parents are encouraged to book in early, as some days, especially excursion days can book out quickly. Our program closes each year for 2 weeks over the Christmas Break, this is usually the week of Christmas and the week of New Year, however the dates changes annually and will be made available at the beginning of each new school year.

What happens if my child is sick or on holidays?

If your child is going to be absent due to illness, holidays or any other reason you need to notify us for both Before (BSC) and After School Care (ASC) as well as Vacation Care (VC). A 48 hour notice period applies to avoid being charged absent fees, this is to ensure we are rostering to ratio and buying an adequate amount of resources for the number of children expected.

What are the late fees?

We understand there are occasions when parents are running late after 6pm, and we ask you to contact us to let the Educators know and to reassure your children that you are on the way.

A late fee of $25.00 is charged for every 15 minutes after 6pm. This is to cover the cost of the Educators required to stay back and care for the children, this fee is applied to your account and will reflect on your statement.

Who can collect my child?

Only persons you have listed as authorised on your child’s enrolment form can collect your child. You can update your authorised contacts using the My Family Lounge Web Portal (Not the APP) These persons will be required to be registered with us so they can use the sign in/out Kiosk on the Ipads. In cases of an emergency pick up, you can advise us by giving us written permission for an alternative person to collect your child. These persons will need to present at the SACP office with ID to verify their identity and to sign out.

When do casual bookings close each day

Before School Care

All families can make a casual booking for BSC on the morning you would like to attend. If the service is at capacity, then you will not be able to attend. The recommendation is to make a casual booking the day before to ensure a spot is available.

After School Care

Families can make a booking up until 12pm on the day via the My Family Lounge APP. If there is an emergency and you need care for your child/ren – you can contact the service on 3279 2902. All casual bookings are subject to availability.

Children need to have a booking to attend the service. There is an additional $10 charge for children who arrive without a booking. At times, the service will be unable to accommodate these children if the service is at capacity.
